Gwilym Pugh

Gwilym’s journey from environmental scientist to insurance innovator began in the heart of the Amazon rainforest. Standing among the world’s most incredible biodiversity, then witnessing devastating destruction within the span of an hour, he realised the urgent need to redirect the insurance industry’s trillion-pound investment power towards protecting our planet.

With a first-class degree in environmental science and two decades in financial services, Gwilym combines scientific insight with practical expertise to revolutionise how insurance works. His previous success includes building multiple financial services and insurance companies – but this time, he’s driven by a bigger mission.

As a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society, WWF UK ambassador, and speaker at COP26, Gwilym is committed to proving that finance can be a force for good. Through Planet Protection, he’s turning that vision into reality, one policy at a time.

Daniel Prescott

With 25 years at the forefront of insurance innovation, Daniel brings invaluable expertise in transforming bold ideas into industry-changing solutions. His journey through prominent InsureTech companies has given him unique insight into what makes ethical, sustainable insurance not just possible, but essential.

As Planet Protection’s COO, Daniel combines his MBA-backed strategic thinking with hands-on leadership to bridge the gap between vision and execution. He’s driven by the belief that insurance can do more than protect assets – it can protect our future.
